How to Get Yourself to Finish Bigger Projects Well
New Episode, New Invisible Thing & Virtual Meet-up is THIS MONDAY
Episode 458 of Creative Pep Talk is out now.
This episode is for you if:
You’re stuck in the middle of a never ending project and you need a fresh perspective
You feel distracted by so many ideas
You have felt discouraged by the response to your work/projects after putting so much time and effort in
you’re interested in picture book making or storytelling
In this episode I talk about things I learnt during a long picture book project and ideas I picked up from others along the way for project and idea management and how to get the finished thing OUT THERE.
In Other News:
For those of you that have followed our project Invisible Things over the years, we have some exciting new stuff coming soon that called for some new characters, we will be releasing these new characters on the instagram page! Follow along to see who’s joining the crew, perhaps you’ll meet a new favorite?! See our first new addition…
Silliness is a character we know quite well in our house! We love to be goofy, dance, give things/each other nicknames, experiment with nonsense.
Inspired by a modeling balloon (you know, the ones that curve and twist into all kinds of animals and swords and hats!) Just like those balloons, we imagine Silliness being a character who comes in all shapes and colors, whatever is appropriate or the silliest in any given scenario. We are so excited to share more characters! Follow along on the special Invisible things Instagram to catch the next one.
HAVE YOU HEARD THE NEWS?? IT’S TIME FOR THE JUNE PEP RALLY!
Our virtual meetup is THIS MONDAY!! Can’t wait to hang and chat!
WHEN: June 24th at 10am EST!
WHERE: Virtual (On Zoom)
THEME: Beyond Social Media
PLAN:
We will start by sharing some creative wins!
Andy will start with some ideas from an upcoming in progress episode about how to shift your focus when platforms dramatically shift theirs.
Open discussion on:
What creatives have you seen thrive with a primary focus on places outside the main social platforms? (Instead of instagram / Twitter, places like Pinterest, Spotify, LinkedIn, Substack, etc.)
What are you a super fan of and how does that artist create community or shared identity?
Where are you finding LIFE, excitement and hope online and IRL in your creative practice right now?
See below for link! The monthly virtual Zoom Pep Rally is open to our paid Substack and Patreon community members…
